Last Friday I went to the testing day at Brands Hatch for the Britcar race there that weekend. Every friday before an event Brands Hatch holds a open day of testing for the drivers to practise in for the race weekend ahead. This may not be the most entertaining day for viewers to watch the on track action, but its ideal for us motorsport photographers to practise on. The spectator areas around the track are pretty much empty (I counted two other people there during the whole day!) and best of all entry is free. During the day there was a small selection of the cars racing there that weekend (from gt4 cars to mini's), but apart from during the red flag phases there was almost always some cars on track. The main problem during the day however, was fog. It was the thickest I had ever seen at a racing circuit, at times visibility was down to 30-40 metres. Which made for challenging photography conditions.
